Expecting an event can be unbearably tiring, or it can be enjoyable. It all depends on the circumstances. And everyone can remember something similar. The girl depicted in the painting is possibly expecting a child, or perhaps some other event. She gently hugs the clock, a symbol of time, like the belly of a pregnant woman. This expectation reveals all her inner feelings, doubts, fears, and hopes associated with this event. Time drags on for an impossibly long period, so long that it seems to her that she has already grown old from this expectation. In the painting, the artist indicates this with the gray hair of a young girl. Despite the long wait, the girl smiles and hopes for the best. The artist used warm pastel colors of oil paints on canvas with gilding. The painting was created using clockwork to enhance the meaning. Inspired by a little rabbit I've seen from the car one morning. While I was driving, the little bunny was hopping along the countryside. I was a a very peaceful and happy scene, the little guy living in its own little world, of which I only could get this one quick glimpse. All the other details remain to imagination..... I genuinely can't believe it's already March (I also can't believe it'll be a year since the pandemic really started). Yesterday also marked one year since I started journaling, which isn't an actual major thing, but still. How quickly time flies and how big of a difference a year can make. "And when it rains, the rain falls down Washing out the cattle town But she's quite safe up far away in her eiderdown And she dreams of crystal streams Of days gone by when we would lean Laughing, fit to burst, on each other."
In late 2018, I started trying to be a bit more playful with art and experiment. This was a quick watercolour sketch I did. I'd like to revisit this one as a full watercolour painting.
The reference for this painting was a quick snap I took at the roadside on a trip up to Angelsey. Didn't really manage to capture the scale or the atmosphere.
uperstition : Hand Washing.
It is said to bode ill if two people wash their hands together in the same basin of water - for this will lead to a quarrel between them during the same day unless they quickly spit in the basin.

I've discovered some great jazz whilst working from home. I guess it's an age thing? Get to middle age and you're bang into jazz. I started off making some free hand lettering which quickly turned into me doodling the names of my favourite musicians. Might develop this into a poster, what do you reckon? Mmmm jazz, nice!
