Vibrant flowers, including a sunflower and a rose, dominate the forefront of the painting with their bright and colorful petals. Light, sketch-like strokes give the piece a playful and dynamic feel, with an array of greens creating a lively backdrop for the blooms.

I’ll be honest, 2024’s not been too bad mostly but the recent crap weather in Scotland has a lot to answer for. Cold and miserable? Sure, but it’s not exactly been winter as we know it. Roll on spring! In lighter news... happy Pokemon day :-D

To all my spiritual friends out there… if you can throw us some magic to warm up the weather that’d be great, heheheh!

Magnolias are spring harbingers in our garden, as well as our annual ornamental cherry display. Star magnolias are over, tulip magnolias are in full swing, and the occasional Southern magnolia is starting. Perhaps I should have done this with a gouache paint, but I used colored pencils. Oh well. Outlined after with various sizes of Pigma Micron pens. Our garden: www.edgewoodgarden.com

Everybody's in a hurry to get outside; can't wait for spring to get here

The Jack Story from Rooster's Wife by Russell Edson. There was the Jack of the beanstalk story, and a Jack Sprat who could eat no fat. And there was Jack-in-a-box who used to spring out of a box for no reason at all. And Jack who broke his crown fetching water with a certain Jill. Not to forget little Jack Horner, or the jack who jumped over a candlestick... Theirs is a club of Jacks. https://www.instagram.com/p/CjniuMsuDWM/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Is it me? Is it the sunlight? Is it the time of year? Why do colours seem more vibrant and why does everything seems more enjoyable?

This is the result of a DTIYS challenge on Instagram. Done with ink lines and watercolours on watercolour paper.
