A gentle soul who is a bit lost

For the last day of Inktober, I drew a pumpkin with black india ink on orange paper. I had never done an Inktober challenge before, and I really liked it! I'm definitely doing it next year, too. I got very good ideas for new projects, I played with different textures and colours, and I used a calligraphic pen to draw, which I had never done before and which I loved.

This spread was unfinished for over a year and I finally got around to completing it. Micron on Molskine sketch grade paper.

My sketchbook spread. This is actually a moleskin watercolor album which I'm mostly using to draw from life. This is sharp and spiky versus soft and fluffy. The models were the two of my house plants, and aim was a texture and light study.

This is from one of my older sketchbooks. I used salt on the red watercolor paint while it was still wet to get the textured background effect.

This is a piece of work of a canal in Amsterdam. i made a rubbing with pencil of a interesting patterned wall to create a base tone and then worked into it. This helped focus on tone and create interesting textures.
