Putting the painting of the newt aside for now. It was not going as I hoped (see previous post)...I still have ideas but feel like I need to work on some things before progressing. Thinking it was the eyes, so decided to work on some studies. These creatures do have fascinating eyes!

Coloring practice! Looked up a lot of references for the lighting, and despite not looking like the reference I'd say I've leveled up with colored pencils. I almost never use prismas except for hair, but this time prismas colored the entire lass. This here's Yonn Goldheart Afflora, savior of Galantra, basically she's the braveheart of her country. The dirt on her face speaks of 1000 hunts and the loss of her eye shows the extent of her bravery and sacrifice. I'm thinking her chapter should be explained in a short story, yes? For legends get passed along in story over fire and wine!

had to paint light through trees in watercolor. The pattern on the chair was a pain in the butt, but I think it came out ok. Winsor & Newton professional watercolors on Blick premier cold press 140lb watercolor block. This is the first time I've used Blick Watercolor paper. It held up well, but the painting came out kind of light (not sure if the paper had anything to do with that, though). At any rate, I bought a bunch of it, so I guess that's what I'm using!

My daughter is loving my weird floppy cats so I drew a colouring page for her although I am thinking I might end drawing a few more and making it into a little book for her. I can't wait to see how she colours this in :)

Unaware - i don't think there's a good way to find out you're a robot...but having your skin melt off your arms to reveal a metal skeleton is probably not ideal.

Watercolor and India Ink on Yupo paper. If there is any single way to let go of detail and think simply, it is by using watercolor on Yupo paper. You basically have to surrender control and just see what happens.

Found this quote a few days back, and it really resonated with me. The message is clear that we really shouldn't wait for the "perfect moment" or spend too much time looking for the "easy way" as neither of these options truly exist, they are in effect excuses for not getting on and doing what needs to be done. in order to achieve our goals. If we are honest with ourselves "now" is always the best time, and doing rather than thinking about doing is the way forward. This is a mixed media artwork as the drawing of the girl has been reworked in Photoshop along with the wording and torn paper effect all being digital. Many thanks for looking !

It's always fun to come to the Art gallery of the assheads, marginal artists of the World of Fantasy. Today I have seen the picture you are looking at, it made me interesting, as more people worked on it, not considering the picture as a whole, nor the work of its predecessors. Then, out of a large cardboard box, an old man came out and came to me. There were two big holes in the box, so I realized that the guy was looking at me from the box for a while. - Do you like the picture? - he asked. His eyes, red from lack of sleep, staring at me. On the old clothes he wore on himself, there was a stain of color. - I was impressed with - I said cautiously, knowing the unpredictable nature of people who deal with art - Did you do it? His face was stretched into a smile, a few teeth that he had left, flashes from the mouth cavity. - Yes - proudly erect his chicken breast an old man - Inspiration wore me all the time! He looked at me with a look that required my other questions about the image, need to tell any story, to anyone, about his work, was in it taut like a catapult. - What inspired you? - I ask the old man, and he barely welcomed the question and said: - Last week I was visiting my friend Jergon, the King of the Dwarves. I was thinking the other day about what got me interested in art and remembered that I used to draw these DBZ characters all the time. (Now not having the time to do much of anything and character drawings are pretty simple) Knowing what I know now I decided to do a quick sketch, mainly because I need to practice my line work.

I travelled around Uzbekistan for two weeks during easter. It is definitely one of the most interesting and beautiful countries I have travelled in. These are some of the urban sketches from my travel sketchbook, of some of the most famous buildings in the different cities of Uzbekistan. I would LOVE to hear what you guys think.

I haven’t been that active here so, rather than waiting a day to post each of my new works, I’m going to just stick with my latest. And this isn’t exactly an oc, but I could draw him again in the future. I also don’t have a name for him yet, so you can write a suggestion in the comments. I drew this since I’m kinda facing a dilemma and sketching helps me clear my mind and think.

I've been experimenting doodling on fabric with Sharpies an turning that fabric into pencil cases...I'm getting a good response from people so I think I'll get good quality fabric pens and create some unique items with doodles....

Ye know how it is, a brand new sketchbook and a blank white page, at first it's exciting "what am I going to put in here" but that pristine blank white page keeps staring up at you and you start to think "crap! what am I going to put in here?" So I just doodled and put some thoughts down and doodled around that until the whole page was filled with one big doodle... it broke the silence and started the magic...yeah I said it, super cheesy!
