This sketch shall be turned into a print someday. Dip pen and ink in my A5 watercolour sketchbook. The background wash is the result of a palette cleaning.
I made a Zine called "Famous Bottoms" - it's a quiz with 12 watercolour paintings of famous bottoms (painted by me). This one is #8 and I assume most people will recognise it! But how many of the others would you know? If you'd like a copy of the Zine, you can buy it at https://LindsayBakerArt.square.site for $AU8.00 plus shipping :)
butterflies # ????? : two holly blues. This was a hard one and worthy of an art block
with top and bottom wings distinguishing the species, composition and pose was almost impossible. Cue two of the Holly Blues! :)
Zahra Sedighi-Hamedani sits in prison in Iran, sentenced to death for being a lesbian. Digitally painted with pencil brushes and textured overlays to produce a watercolor-type image. Shading tones and background are meant to represent the Kurdish flag.
Another work created in Lockdown in Berlin. Drawn on a piece of drafting paper from an ingenieering student in Leipzig, 1923. Like the cellar it was found in, it expresses a longing to be outside. A longing to feel of use, a job to go to or someone to visit. It is confusion and patience drawn out thin and ready to snap at any moment.
Taking a break from photo editing to get creative in other areas...
Over the Beltane weekend, my girlfriend and I watched the British dub of Urusei Yatsura over on YouTube. Yes, I assure anyone not aware, such a thing exists and my word is it hilarious (but not for the easily offended! Oh and while, I'm here, may the 4th be with you :-)
