I've been really busy lately. I took a break that was supposed to be a 10 minute doodle break, and this was the result. Well, its the inks of the sketch result. I have no idea if the colors will work the way I intend, but I'll post those after they're finished.

Hello guys. I just found this website and its seems really cool. I paint now and then and this is one of my paintings. I received a school assignment for my art class to do an artwork based on the society. Without doubting i chose my theme which is "body type". A very close friend of mine belongs to the not so "accepted" body types and it has been a really though time for her even though she doesn't really show her emotions. I painted a girl vs another girl with an atmosphere around them, based on their looks. U can see the difference on how they bring themselves to the society just by looking at their body position. So how the society influence their mental state.(I can only post 1 pic so the next post will be of the another girl) I got a B+ \(^O^)/

This is inspired by one of Bob Ross’s works. I added some twists and differences though. It is an older painting, but still one of my favorites!

Just another test - working file to try and establish the feel of the book - problem i am having is book for adults, tweens, or kids - is it too scary? In the end there are a million things that harbour self doubt so better to just "do" instead of think too hard about it. - again just a test.

The other day I saw pictures of a Russian gala beginning of the 1900. The royalty was wearing extravagant beautiful clothing and they inspired this piece. Due to the card stock used and the subject I also decided to not use color but leave it at black, white and dark Grey. I would love feedback as I adore how it turned out. Is essence this to me was partially a study on the fashion of Russia in the 1900 as well as a chance to play around with 'colored' paper and how to use black and white to make most of what I had with me. I hope to make another piece like this again in the future, hopefully have it perhaps even more extravagant. This piece was made using. A commission that didn't work out. They had something specific in mind but hadn't relayed that. I will learn to ask more questions in the future :) live and learn! I'll likely post the new one when it's done.

Found this quote a few days back, and it really resonated with me. The message is clear that we really shouldn't wait for the "perfect moment" or spend too much time looking for the "easy way" as neither of these options truly exist, they are in effect excuses for not getting on and doing what needs to be done. in order to achieve our goals. If we are honest with ourselves "now" is always the best time, and doing rather than thinking about doing is the way forward. This is a mixed media artwork as the drawing of the girl has been reworked in Photoshop along with the wording and torn paper effect all being digital. Many thanks for looking !

Sketchbook work. Markers, watercolor, pen and coffee.

Been a busy couple of weeks, school holidays are always a bit tricky to find time. I have been working on some illustrations for a software product that my husband and I are building so I can't share those at this stage but I was back at the gallery today sketching with my new drawing group, I spent most of my time with a bunch of Mesoamerican statues. I am starting to not get so freaked out by people watching me draw :)

Oils on canvass. This is Charlie. He's the parrot owned by the supermarket where my husband used to work. The owner of the shop brought him in to keep him from getting bored and pulling his feathers out. He has a large cage at the entrance which he often escapes from, and can be found hopping from trolley to trolley on the handles, to amuse himself. He's usually found by a staff member who brings him back. A real character lol

This is a drawing I have been working on when I need to slow down and turn my brain off for a little while so it's taking quite a while to finish but I am always happy to see it progress that little bit further every time I sit down with it. This is from my A3 sketchbook, I used to stick to smaller A5 and A4 sizes but I am certainly appreciating the extra space with this drawing.
