Yod Hello, my name is Yod,
and I'm a doodle addict.

Yod was born in 1984 and grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2007 he moved to France, where he began his studies for a BA in Fine Art at EESI, Poitiers. In 2010 he participated in the From Opposite exhibition in the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art in Moscow, where he presented his paintings from the Rectitude series. Since the late 2000’s, Yod has used a varied practice of painting, sculpture, photography and drawing to explore the complex relationship between art, society and humanity. Yod’s work investigates an individual's image, living in the new sociocultural phenomenon—the information society.

Apple

I had an idea to create illustrations of fruit set in autumn 2017, and have been working on the realization of this idea throughout February/March 2018. In all, I have created 11 illustrations: apple, apricot, banana, cherry, grape, lemon, orange, pear, plum, tomato, watermelon. Using rapidograph to form the shape, I am coloring my works digitally in Adobe Photoshop. Here is an apple!

You Don’t Come To Visit

Overview: The title of this piece is directly inspired by the lyrics of the song "Rabbit In Your Headlights" by UNKLE. I liked the fact that I shook the static sensation of this shot using some vibrant colours and decoration. The subjects seems to be frozen in time, waiting for someone that will save them.

The dreamer

"Man on the Train: Hey, are you a dreamer? Wiley: Yeah. Man on the Train: I haven’t seen too many around lately. Things have been tough lately for dreamers. They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore. It’s not dead it’s just that it’s been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists. The dreamer is banished to obscurity. Well, I’m trying to change all that, and I hope you are too. By dreaming, every day. Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds. Our planet is facing the greatest problems it’s ever faced, ever. So whatever you do, don’t be bored, this is absolutely the most exciting time we could have possibly hoped to be alive. And things are just starting" - waking life (movie). ° So the other day I had a beautiful conversation about lucid dreaming with some friends. We shared amazing dream memories that we all had experienced and right the next day this sleeping beauty started showing up on a piece of paper. What about you, are you a dreamer? :) ♠️

Fresh Cuts

I always admired those hand-painted signs outside the barbershops, so I made my own. Actually, you look like you need a fresh new hairstyle yourself. I can hook you up
