Maia Palomar Hello, my name is Maia Palomar,
and I'm a doodle addict.
Chicago, IL

Hey there! I'm a self-taught artist, and I've loved painting, drawing, and doodling all my life. My art tends to lean towards a surrealist style, and I find it easier to speak through my art than using words. Take a look around, maybe you'll see something you like... I'm always looking to improve, so feedback is welcome. {Officially graduated! Class of 2025-ish, I'll be majoring in chemistry and minoring in art, hopefully I'll be able to go to art school at some point.} PUBLISHED SKETCHBOOK (if you want to check it out) IS UNDER WEBSITE!

Colliding Worlds - When Abstract Meets Surreal

Acrylic on canvas. 50cm x 70cm. This started as a purely experimental abstract piece, but evolved to include both abstract and surreal (i.e. representational) elements.

Doodle - May 2020

Ink & graphite doodles/sketches, (this time more graphite than ink.) A5 size ruled notepad paper. This started out like other doodles of mine, but quickly morphed into something a bit more deliberate and complicated.

Joey

A close friend recently lost their family pet, Joey. As a tribute gift, I did his portrait. I usually just draw people, so this presented quite the challenge for me. I have never attempted to draw animals/pets. Bic4 Ballpoint Pen, Sanrio Novelty 10 Colour Ballpoint Pen on Archival 8.5" x 11" paper

Agony

I drew this from a photo of an actor showing disgust but my version turned out looking to me more like he was in agony.
