Combination of traditional and digital art. I actually hand painted this on some very textured paper with oil pastels a while back, so to 'tidy and clean' it I had to employ digital means. The background was done with alcohol inks, the 'flow' of it I was particularly proud of :).
OCs for Starry depths. Originally we’re more then friends so this is like a back story, all I could think of when I was drawing was that song that goes “sittin on the dock of the bay, watching the clouds roll away.” I think it’s by Otis Redding. This a self portrait drawing of myself as a younger man, with a lot of shadow play on the portrait itself and a stylized background of a sky, clouds and the sun, rendered in a kind of an imaginary dream-like almost surreal scenario. Many thanks for looking.
It's not quite September yet, but I finished my bullet journal sketch for next month a few minutes ago. "Come Down in Time" by Elton John, the second song on the first side of 'Tumbleweed Connection.' I'm not sure what to expect with the starting of school, with senior year as a whole, and what the end of 2020 or 2021 will bring. It feels like I'm hearing all this static and incomprehensible noise, but I open my eyes and see nothing else there, simply a dark open space.

These are the results from a request to create a piece based on a fathers son's nicknames. The older brother is the moon, second the bear, third the bird. Added the stars as the parents.
His first request was of a tattoo of sorts ...but I struggled and my drawings kept turning into children illustrations. I so enjoyed the challenge and it gave me an opportunity to honor the love of family. At the same time, it was hard to associate them into a tattoo:) .
The story behind this is that when my little sister and I were kids, we invented a game called Blammer. You duct tape small trashcans to your back and try to slam a sock ball into your opponents basket. We used tennis rackets for defense. We used to terrorize our parents with all the running and yelling in the house. We're in our 30's now and try and play when we see each other. I call her Chicken and she calls me Ducky. Which is why we're are riding birds. One of my favorite pieces I've ever done. A birthday present for her.
