This painting was done with the Tuscan style in mind. The Tuscan style favors a rustic look. To me this never goes out of style because it’s as if the new and the old have found a common medium and have agreed to blend so well. There’s plenty of green, beautiful grass. The windows are complimented by the various colors of flowers that are perfectly placed below them. I love how there’s a table set outside of the building with a string of lights (even more beautiful at night) for people to enjoy the scenery as they eat some tasty, authentic Italian cuisines. There’s a group of people walking past the wall of yellow flowers and vines on the way to the inside of the building. In this scene, the ladies are wearing some long, beautiful dresses with gentlemen by their side to accompany them. This gives the impression that this group is out to have a good time. The white birds tops it off in this painting by giving it an inviting feel...”a moment to remember” feeling.
This is my first attempt at traditional egg tempera painting. The panel is a Masonite board from Michaels, but I need to use true gesso because the egg tempera will not adhere to acrylic gesso. Some of my favorite artists used egg tempera. Andrew Wyeth, Robert Vickrey, and Colin Fraser are all masters of this ancient and archival medium. I have been self studying this technique for months and I was very excited to start experiencing the medium. Egg tempera is like layering stained glass on top of stained glass. the painter can expect a luminous glow to take shape as the colors blend visually through the layers of paint - assisted by the chalk of the true gesso. Egg tempera has been described as the closest painting technique to drawing, hence my draw to this medium.

This prequel, it is revealed that the Cârța Monastery was built somewhere in Romania by a duke centuries ago. Becoming obsessed with dark magic and Satanism, the Duke attempts to summon a demonic force from the catacombs only to be killed by the members of the Vatican who then sealed the rift with the Blood of Christ. Hundreds of years later, the monastery was bombed heavily during the events of World War II, releasing the same evil spirit from its imprisonment. The demon had since taken the form of a nun as a means of blending with the other nuns as well as to mock their faith. Throughout the years, nuns continuously prayed in communion to combat the evil, but in vain as the demonic entity walked freely around the monastery all nights, in the form of a nun to mock their faith.
In 1952, Valak had slain several of the nuns, leaving only two survivors. Sister Victoria, with a key in hand, commits suicide in order to prevent Valak from claiming her as a host. Sometime after her death, the Vatican tasks Burke and Sister Irene to investigate. Valak manipulates the characters throughout the film ranging from creating mass illusions with the ghosts of the slain nuns to weaken Sister Irene and tormenting Father Burke by taking the form of a young boy who had died from a botched exorcism at his hands. Valak then buries Father Burke alive before luring Sister Irene to become possessed. When the catacombs began to flood, Valak tries to strangle Sister Irene to death. While inspecting her for any vital signs, Sister Irene spits the Blood of Christ onto Valak, burning it severely. The rift is then resealed. However, this would prove to not be the end of the Demon Nun as when the group was leaving, Frenchie, a French Canadian otherwise known as Maurice is revealed to have an inverse cross branded on the back of his neck. This segues to the original Conjuring film during a lesson the Warrens were giving about demonic possession. For this one i was thinking of tripping as in “having a bad trip“ and I had this lips drawing left over from another project decided to use it. Frombthis drawing realized nneed to work on my colored pencil blending more.

As above so below... I drew this purple tree with Arteza colouring pencils, blended with pencil blending medium. A5 format, grey Fabriano pastel paper.
Giving it a go with artist colored pencils for the first time. Finding it challenging to keep a point on the pencils and anyway to recover if what should have been a white area gets too much color? Do most colored pencil artists use solvents to blend?
My amazing boyfriend. ^^ first time doing this kind of painting. Thought it came out pretty good ^^ blending became challenging particularly for the shines of the skin. But over all, Im pretty happy with it ^^ hope you like it ✌
This was originally supposed to be a swamp landscape, but I got frustrated with the colors not blending, etc. I painted the whole canvas black and ended up with this
Colour and the absent of it. I blend to showcase the innocence of the child through colour attire. And the seriousness is felt in the child hat and the riffle with a strong black.
This art piece underlines the duality of eastern and western cultures. I love when they combine.

Colored pencil drawing of pomegranates "in progress." Prismacolor and Verithin pencils with some fine lines done with Tombow Irojiten pencils. I like the harder colored pencils for fine detail, but the blending of high wax and oil pencils can't be beat for blending.
