I’ve been going through a bit of an art slump lately, but I finally got myself to pick up the pencil and finish this. My reference photo was a bit grainy so had some trouble with that, but overall I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. Done in graphite, drawing itself is about 5x6 in
Every now and then, I do an homage to "Spy vs Spy" with a little something called "Dog vs Dog". It's a small short comic strip like series, that involves 2 dogs. One red, the other blue going at each others throats using various,violent' slapstick gags.
Found this quote a few days back, and it really resonated with me. The message is clear that we really shouldn't wait for the "perfect moment" or spend too much time looking for the "easy way" as neither of these options truly exist, they are in effect excuses for not getting on and doing what needs to be done. in order to achieve our goals. If we are honest with ourselves "now" is always the best time, and doing rather than thinking about doing is the way forward. This is a mixed media artwork as the drawing of the girl has been reworked in Photoshop along with the wording and torn paper effect all being digital. Many thanks for looking !
Many years back, I watched that documentary ‘The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off’ about a fellow called Jonny Kennedy who lived with the skin condition EB. There’s a bit in that film where he talks about what he hopes his afterlife would be like and, for whatever reason, a couple of coffees as I was re-reading the Wikipedia article about it triggered an idea I had to scribble down...

1979’s The Tin Drum is one of those films I’ve been itching to see for a long time, but haven’t got round to yet for some reason. The main character in that film’s played by a guy called David Bennent. Not a household name for most, but you’ve seen Ridley Scott’s Legend, you’ll recognise him when he played Honeythorn Gump, Tom Cruise/Jack’s elfin pal.
Not sure why the idea to name this piece after D.B. occurred to me, but it did!
St. WIlgefortis. Patron Saint of facial hair and of people seeing a refuge from abusive husbands (and fathers).
When I was doing my research into existing Patron Saints, I stumbled onto St. Wilgefortis. I thought that was a fun combination - until I read to the end. From Wikipedia: "According to the legend of her life, set in Portugal and Galicia, she was a teenage noblewoman who had been promised in marriage by her father to a Moorish king. To thwart the unwanted wedding, she had taken a vow of virginity, and prayed that she would be made repulsive. In answer to her prayers she sprouted a beard, which ended the engagement. In anger, Wilgefortis' father had her crucified."
I considered giving her a knife, to fight off the unwanted husbands and vile fathers, but that would not be true to her suffering. So I included her blood instead.

I'm a big fan of DSaF. I love the characters (kebab boy is my personal favorite), and I cried once I found out that they all freaking die in the end. But not like a little bit of programming can't do the trick, right? I'm using the same sense of Glitchtrap (aka not really being William, but rather an AI or sorts of him) to bring back (a replica of) Jack, Dave, and Henry in the modern world. They're stuck in springlock suits right now, surrounded by wires, as somebody works on them. Dave is in the Bonnie suit, Jack in the Fox suit, and Henry in the Freddy suit. The man who is working on them plans to open a pizzaria, and work alongside the three to create the "Fazfrick's experience". He will wear the Chica suit, because nobody else wants to be the girl. These Marshmallows are hiking out of the camp when these fire dudes come parachuting down on them trying to ruin their camping experience. What will happen to these Marshmallows? Acrylic on wood board about 22 x 28 inches.
Even though I drew these two with the other three of the Liz Cat's animatronics, they somehow ended up really bad. That's why I didn't put them on the stage with the first three.
