Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010)
“My life has been regulated by insomnia,” Bourgeois told an interviewer in 1993. “It’s something that I have never been able to understand, but I accept it.” Bourgeois learned to use these sleepless hours productively, propped up in bed with her “drawing diary,” listening to music or the hum of traffic on the streets.
“Each day is new, so each drawing—with words written on the back—lets me know how I’m doing,” she said. “I now have 110 drawing-diary pages, but I’ll probably destroy some.

He stares at the small square black device. The red led in it keeps blinking simultaneously with the beep and, except for one small button, Neal sees no other modules.
“…This is weird,” he says aloud.
When Satchmo makes another louder puff, Neal decides to go ahead with his friend’s advice and press the button.
I wanted to draw someone who is actually in my life. My moms friend Chanda was around and I just secretly took a photo of her, and traced her face outline because I am sucky at outlines.
Some more stylized withered versions of the Altitone band members, Elizabeth (on the left) and Altor (on the right). Elizabeth has ears but no cameras (which are usually located somewhere on the head (look at stylized withered Preistor for context)), so she is blind. Altor has no ears but a camera (which has been broken off and now sits loose in Altor's disembodied head), so he's deaf. Before version 2 of these guys, Preistor was maroon (once again, look at stylized withered Preistor for context), Elizabeth was teal, and Altor was yellow-green (mostly yellow). I was working on nighttime or dark themes and trying to get more contrast than the last piece I made. I wanted to also work on atmospheric perspective and depth with the clouds. Overall, I am pretty happy with the outcome. This is from a reference picture my husband took from our backyard. Painted with Rebelle 6 Pro.
Phew! What a fortnight it's been here. Been engaging more in my photography as of late, but the day-job's had me on 'go' mode all Easter quite frankly. Thank the maker for those moments to yourself when you can just.. well, indulge really.

The raven familiar sat atop Florien's head making a mess of his braids. Weaving herself a new nest, she pulled a long strand free from a loooping braid her gleaming beak tucking it into a place that she deemed appropriate. She watched the snowy landscape alert to danger as she worked.
A bit of a departure from my usual style. I wanted to try something a bit messy, fast, and loose. The scene is an ancient woodland in Pembrokeshire called Tŷ Canol, an atmospheric place and full of inspiration for artworks. Pen and watercolour in Seawhite sketchbook.
This is an original painting of a secluded cove in the trees. I’ve tried sharing my art before and for criticized and accused of plagiarism when I drew an original animal that resembled that of another. I assure that my works are original. If they aren’t, I will give credit where credit is due.
And of course when I think of dragon, I think of Drogon and Daenerys Targaryen- “The First is Her Name, The Unburnt, Queens of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons”.
