linocut

Here's the latest I've been working on, Illustration A0110. I've been messing with a cool Linocut brush I found for Procreate. Also digging the new text feature they added to the app! Made with Apple Pencil + iPad, tracked time: 7 hours and 30 minutes.

The monsters we create A collection of creatures born from our impact and existance on Earth. This is a work in progress project, it doesn't yet have a name, but the story becomes more clear every day. Soon I will have more details about it, until then take care, this runner is taking a real shape and it's after you. Making Linocuts to mix things up and I am LOVING IT (sorry for garbage image quality whoops)

Due to financial/logistical reasons, I can't do literal linocuts as often as I'd like, so I draw my illustrations in reverse, flip them digitally, have them printed, and then color them in by hand. The result is basically an "artist's print". I only make one of each. These were watercolor, but I've recently discovered gouache, so keep an eye out for future pieces that incorporate that.

Band logo and linocut artwork for a band. The image was actually cut from Lino and printed from which a digital scan was taken to make a silkscreen for printing.

I'm not sure if this falls into a "doodle" but I did draw it on the block and then cut it...

That was a wild night with loud techno sound at a workspace. I heard this track and painted and printed this linocut with the music.
