Yellow Crab (Eriphia verrucosa) is typically brownish green or brownish red in colour with yellow spots. It has very strong, asymmetric chelipeds, the larger ones typycally bering rounded tuberbles in front of the upper articulation of the carpus. Trying a mixture of pencils and gel pens. Just highlighting a couple of things. Showing a mixture of not knowing what is actually there in the eye of the beholder.
The last six months in my life after breaking up with my partner of two years in November. Mixed media on A3. This is also my entry for the Diptych competition.
I started with watercolor and watercolor, but then realised I needed a more opaque black and switched to gouache, acrylic and brush pens for the final touches. Most of the original looseness was lost after that, however he looks more accurate now I think.

"No matter how life gets you down, don't forget to smile." Approx. 5" x 5.5". Watercolor and ink. Depicted is my version the Joker, driven mad by solitude. Alone with his thoughts, he envisions things claimed to be impossible and understands that the spark of a thought is what makes things truly real. It is in this, he finds comfort and a reason to keep smiling.
