A far cry from how I usually draw. The lineart is messy and I colored sloppily, with the watercolor brush. This guy is the first out of three paint moster generations --- yes, this guy is made of white paint. The mahogany lines aren't blood, but rather mahogany paint. Vine Charcoal and Oil Pastel make for a messy, smudgy experience. A certain amount of messiness can make a process feel more real and human. Hello. My name is Jenna. As a child, I grew up in an abusive household, where my dad would do some pretty messed up things, as well as gaslight me. My dad has been out of the picture for a while, but I still have a lot of feelings and trauma left over from him. I wanted to represent what being gaslit, felt like to me. Now without further ado, my impression of gaslighting.

I really hate to draw noses. For me it's always the starting point to mess up a face. As I left out facial features in most of my drawings... I have to start facing my fears.

Take it how you want. You either give everything to social media, or it takes everything from you. In the end, you are left naked and hollow. I wanted to make this a simple composition at its core. The image is more about the message. Times Square took forever to put together, I think the perspective is off just a bit. Overall, I think I did well with shading and depth. I am also improving on drawing/painting the human form. I wish I could trust in shapes and form and go a bit more abstract, but I think that will come with experience.

I graduated from school with a degree in Bachelor of Science is what my teachers told me is a good enough degree to get hired in the art world but I don't know what in the art world I want to do. It took me six-years to get a four-year degree and eight years after graduating from high-school to figure out what I want to do with my life. I want to be a freelance artist creating my own work and doing commissions for others but even with my degree the level that I am at now is not good enough to sell neither am I at the level I want to be at. So.... I am taking the rest of my twenties to get at that level starting at ground zero and learning the basics from this website I found www.drawabox.com. Another one that I thought I'd messed up, but that came good in the end.

Fanart of the character Candle Queen from Ghost. Kinda messy sketch something happened with the background at one point because I was trusting myself to make no mistakes because of pen. Probably gonna turn it into a digital piece at some point.

This is a painting of a first century Galilean fishing boat, most likely the very type of boat used by Peter when he was called by Jesus to follow him. This illustration is part of a bigger mural I am working on, about the ministry of Jesus the Christ. If you notice, the boat is beached facing backward, with the fishing net coming from the back of the boat. This is to signify that Peter, like all the other apostles, except Matthew the tax collector, dropped their fishing occupation and followed Jesus, Who would make them the fishermen of men’s souls. Here is a truth about me as an artist. Two parts of this painting gave me trouble in carrying out this illustration. The fist was illustrating the ropes of the rigging. My first attempt was horrendous it took me a second try to get it right. I had to look up pictures of ropes on the Internet to overcome this challenge. The second was illustrating the rocks on the bottom of the Sea of Galilee and the reflections of the boat on the water. I must have made about five attempts until it finally clicked. Even when I kept looking at the reflections of boats on water, I could not make the breakthrough. In creating the kind of art that I do, it is very rare to find a model that meets all my requirement for what I am illustrating. So, it takes photos and imagination and the grace of God to create an illustration that looks better than a stick figure and communicates the message intended. So, I figure God has me go through these challenges to keep me humble because, without humility, God is not able to use our talents for His glory. (October 12, 2017)

It's a mess, right? Not particularly beautiful or impressive. That is what self-hatred is like. Easy to achieve. Not great to look at. Very common. And very, very hard. To all of the people that struggle with self-hate, it's all in your head don't worry. You are the only one that sees you the way you see yourself.

I was trying to draw an hourglass but i messed up trying to draw it. I wanted to redo it but showing off ur mistakes is important too.

Done 2000 with oils on illustration board. This was one of my art college in NYC project assignment that i had to do . The theme for the project was "ludicrous" so from there we had to come up with image towards that vocabulary. First I did a thumbnail of woman combined with motorcycle,but my art professor did not approve of it, so I did my second thumbnail which was the image as you see now ,but I originally had painted her face with eyes and the third on her forehead and when I finished the painting . I showed to my other class professor and one professor recommended me that I should pull the skin over her face and get rid of the eyes so thas what I did to finish the piece. When we to show our final piece in the class almost everybody in my class were saying I am crazy in a good way I hope. Later on back in year 2001 one of the art buyer from Yahoo messenger in art chat room we got to talk about art wanted to see my artwork ,so I showed him some of my oil paintings that I did year 2000 for my class in art college he wanted to buy almost all my oil paintings so he bought the one that you see here and rest of my 2 paintings. This image is block number 7. This painting illustrates Jesus rescuing peter, as he start to sink in to the sea, because he lost his faith when took his eyes off Jesus, and focused on the violence of the winds and waves of the storm. Very few captured the darkness and valiance of a stormy sky taking place at 3:00 am in the morning (which is the forth watch of the night. Many illustrations I found, their skies were too bright and calm. I found that the seas in these illustration had the same lack of movement and violence, the sea would have in a storm that was so strong the disciples were not able to make any headway in their crossing the lake. I notice that all illustrations of Jesus walking on water, show the viewer His feet. In reality the waves would most likely block the viewer from seeing his feet on top of the water. The unavoidable black eye in most of these illustrations of Jesus walking on water, is the ridicules and unrealistic possess they have Jesus in, of Him rescuing Peter. You know the ones where He is making some kind of sign with one hand, as it is held up toward the sky, and one hand reaching down to peter. What was I trying to accomplish in my illustration? I want to be careful, to being accurate with costumes styles, and colors worn by the poor people of Galilean society. I wanted to be accurate in illustrating a storm on the sea of Galilee. I looked over numerous photos on line, of storms taking place on the Sea of Galilee. To understanding how the water and sky behave during a storm I studied the colors of sky, clouds, and water, during these conditions, in this location of the world? Showing movement in the air and the water. I used stylist brush strokes, to create movement in the sky and in the water. I am hoping to make people feel the storm’s violent energy. Showing power of the wind blowing against the bodies of Jesus and peter, through the movement of clothes, and hair. Showing the anxiety of Pete, with his body swallowed up to the waist, his face looking up to Jesus to rescue him from drowning. Showing that Jesus offers security to Peter, from being swept away by the wave of the sea. By his secure grasp of Peter’s back arms. He is able to lift Peter out of the water. The message I want my view to receive, is that everyone who comes into the world will experience trials and tribulation. We can overcome our fears and be filled with courage, to enable us to battle our ways through these storm in life.
