My tribute to my good friend who died earlier this year. Another white pastel on black paper. Not my favourite media but I love the effect of it. I need to practice more as I can't get my head around working on negative lol, erasing to get shadows and filling in to get highlights etc. I used a chunky white stick and a white pastel pencil but detail still eludes me lol. It's a technique I need to refine. It's the second picture of a dead person I've put on, apart from humph, so I'm a cheery little soul aren't I lol? Thanks for looking
Sometime last year when I went to my village after a while, some of the buildings I saw were now modern, they no more use mud bricks to build. What I saw was like the mud houses are giving way for the sky scrapers.
This is one of my favorite pieces. This was inspired by Repo! The Genetic Opera, but it means a lot more to me as well. Feelings of desperation and also a feeling of self control that really isn't there. Forcing myself to smile and all the while, feeling hollow inside.
I wanted to do a piece that turns an insult into something more motivational. For context, to be called a strawberry is associated with being weak and sensitive, as strawberries are soft and easily bruised.
Finally had a day to sit and scribble, first day in a long time. It's fast and loose, but I like how it turned out, and I had fun! My reference was a toy squirrel; but, I think love and death are a bit more interesting. Done in Photoshop. It may be a surprise, but I am only now reading 1st book on UFOs ( I have been mostly interested in aliens as fiction or in ttRPGs). I just learned about the Arecibo Message.
Frank Drake sent a message of 1679 bits to his fellow UFO friends and said that this was a mathematical message he wanted to send to the aliens. While not all cultures share language, we all share math.
To test if it was decode-able, he asked them to figure out what it meant with no other context. They failed.
So he sent it to more UFO friends. They failed, too.
So he put it in a decoder magazine and got exactly one correct answer from an electrician. 1679 is the product of two semi-prime numbers, which should get you to realize it’s a 23 *73 picture.
Bu needless to say if the interpretation rate was that low amongst earthlings, the hopes for alien communication seemed dim. Especially since the message will take 25K years to arrive.
But we do have C’therax and Friends’ take above – admittedly the DNA double helix (blue) does look like a butterflyish thing.
After a year of drawing pretty much nothing due to artblock/burnout that came after a few years of battling my mind to be able to draw, this drawing marked me finally being able to return to art this November 2023 with a fresh mindset of less perfectionisim and more focus on my own enjoyment of the process. I had a limited timespan to work on this, a gift for my grandmother's 80th birthday, as I only began the process the day before I needed to email it across. Compared to the months it has typically taken me to finish anything in more recent years, this presented an extra motivation to abandon "perfect" in favour of "good enough". It's not as detailed as some of my prior works, but given the limited timespan and that I'm out of practice I am nonetheless happy with the result. As usual, I combined a graphite and ink drawing with digital colour+shading.
Broccoli is delicious and nutritious, but it is not the best at critical thinking.
Some humans also reject reality as willingly as this broccoli does.
Eat more vegetables. lol
This is my OC Scarlet when she is in college. Yes she definitely grew out her hair and looks more tired but she is in college. Im still taking up drawing tips from anyone.

This artwork was supposed to be a self portrait but it quickly turned into a more charming, awesome stylized portrait (not mine, obviously). This piece has a color scheme similar to midnight gospel and katana zero (video game), I have added the blue and pink color shades to make it a little bit interesting. Well this was more fun than i expected... Initially i just wanted to illustrate an Ox that was a bit of a moron. But as we all know the term Oxymoron also showcases irony. And w that i was off & added 15 extra cartoons. See if u can find them. Here's few that i think might b impossible to decipher from my drawing. A Plastic-Glass, a Dodge Ram & a near Miss.

I always found Chicken & Salad to be somewhat of an oxymoron... the word Salad usually means delectable fruits & vegetables... Right? So whether it's beef, pork, chicken or spam... it feels like cheating. & don't think i am fooled by bacon bits either! So this of course made me ponder what possibly a Chicken Salad farm would look like. Or maybe they are produced via eggplant? Either way it's closer to an actual genuine 'salad' & brings more validity to this vegetarian staple. Good day!
