Up on a hill, deep in Deadwood
Lies an old shack, that fosters no good
Inside this shack floats a very old being
To seek it out, is to regret such a meeting
A blue floating skull, who brings sweet promises of doom
Sits all alone in a dark four corner room
Why is the reason, this being is there
Why does it beckon one to come near
Its lonely and bored
So it calls out to you
The skull was once mighty and powerful too
Causing great pain on subjects like you
The beast of an age
Caught by a mage
imprisoned in here
no longer to torment the world and spread fear
But just being caught wasn’t enough
It stifled its power but its will, was left uncorrupt
The skull, now a seeker of dreams
Destroyer of love, life, and of schemes #embracingnightmares
A captivating original painting by Ty Patmore depicting a dandelion seed head bowing under its own weight. The Seed Crown uses powerful shadow work to give this common sight a monumental presence, reminding the viewer of the beauty found in nature's final, quiet moments.
A little Urban Sketch of Setagaya Park, a Japanese garden with a peaceful pond, filled with koi in Vienna, Austria. I used the Derwent Line & Wash Paint Pan Set.
If i was real youd see me cry
If i was real youd watch me die
If i was real youd spit in my eye
If i was real youd know a lie
If i was real youd know my name
If i was real id bring you shame
If i was real id show you pain
If i was real id drive you insane
But im not real
Im just a name
Meet me in the dark
Meet me in the light
Ill crawl inside your skin
Eager for a bite
Ill coil around your thoughts
Let me stay
Together we can obsess
Over every shade of grey
Deny my existence
Dont say my name
I dont love you
Make no mistake
Im not here for salvation
Im here for the pain
Embrace me my child
Nightmares
My name

Mixed media on toned tan paper.
Starting next week, I'm going back to college. I'm very excited for my courses, especially art & writing. It will be a great opportunity to explore my curiosities, improve my art skills, and grow as a person. I will share my art assignments if my instructors allow it. I would also like to write a little about each piece, which may be required for my assignments anyway.
Lately, I've been inspired by fantasy & fairytale artwork. I think fantasy & horror will make good focuses for my pre-BFA portfolio. This was a little experiment with a fairytale aesthetic. One of my goals is to use limited art supply sets & swap out colours as they run out. I feel the first colours I picked out fit with aesthetic well.
I'm proud of this drawing, especially the dress & the night sky. However, I can see some areas that I should've done differently. I'm not happy with the proportions & foreshortening of the limbs. Also, I shouldn't have used a background colour for the flowers. I added the colour to cover up a smear from the watercolour. I should avoid making large areas of solid colour, especially with my coloured pencils. I am learning & improving.
...as my daughter says. Watercolour on watercolour paper. Mixing all the greens was real fun. I enjoyed every minute of creating this piece. And, of course, the first person I showed it to, found some fault with it...
Finding out why I wasn't able to properly draw something like this readily in pencil... This sort of styling is better represented in less-detailed styles such as paint, or even using just a marker. Pencils are highly detail-oriented, and... this is the "essence" that I have been trying to present behind the pencil medium...
