Autumn is a peculiar time, I suppose. It's one of the prettiest times of the year (in my opinion) and one of the most mysterious. I'm not sure what it is that leads to it, but my mental state always shifts dramatically during this time, not always in the best way. I don't know. The transition is darker and murkier.
On occasions one likes to walk down the road with a geetar on ones back and drum stix in ones hand!...and then draw pictures of the aformentioned sequence of events! wowza! some folk think I'm on a protest march!...musak'weirdo'isms
My first attempt at drawing a piece inspired by the art in my favorite childhood book series Scary Stories to tell in the dark. I am actually rather happy with this piece even though some details are a bit off. Comments and critique always welcome. ♡♡
This is one of many people that I will be using in my Senior Thesis animation project. My project is to create an interactive piece that is aimed for teaching young underrepresented minorities and girls the design process for a robot. :)
This was done with oil pastels in a technique known as Sgrafitto, as part of a 100 day challenge on Instagram. I scratched the black paint off with a chop stick. Worked like a treat, so I'm planning a bigger piece with that technique.
This is an acrylic painting on pre-stretched canvas. It features a pop art style of pink and teal and purple shapes in a sort of abstracted floral pattern, but wait, that's a flower there too. This is a concept sketch that i might use on a bigger piece, it has a bit more to the design that ive added on to the top of the sketch as i was playing around with different ideas and angles to look at things. i love playing around with different symbols and markings that are quite tribal and almost mystical giving a depiction of mother earth or something shamanic also playing around with the vines and branches in the hair was a cool concept.
I was feeling listless about this inktober until I picked up Daily Rituals : How artists work by Mason Currey. I immediately knew that I want to do these portraits for the inktober.
