When You Can Fly

This piece was done in graphite. It took me about 6 hours over the course of a few days. I didn’t love how the rider turned out, but this was my first time drawing a rider so I’m not too upset about it ;) Let me know what you think! Constructive criticism is always appreciated! :)

You don't see many bikes like this. Not sure I would feel safe or even seen but I like the idea of the reclining position.

Riding in Bits

I decided to do this piece because one of my friends argued that bits aren’t invasive and horses enjoy the clear commands. I ride in a bit so if you are a rider and you use bits I’m in no way attacking you. I merely wanted to express that bits are painful and invasive to horses and how important it is to keep light hands and only pull on the reins when necessary.

Battle Horn-Whale

A whimsical illustration of a large horn-whale creature with fangs, an anchor tattoo on his fin, and a tattoo of how many ships he has sunk on his back, with a whale rider perched on its back, is surrounded by gentle waves. The contrast between the massive creature and the tiny rider suggests a playful narrative. The muted colors and simple lines create a charming and imaginative scene.

Support Is on The Way

Medium : Pen and Ink on Bristol Board Size : 11" x 15" Year completed : 1987 This rendering is part of a collection of illustrations entitled " The Army Years." This rendering remind me of a ride I took on A Army National Guard helicopter, while I was serving in the Air Force- Civil Air Patrol. We were helping them to figure out the safest, and fastest, flight paths between hospitals, for when a patient needs to be air lifted from one hospital to another. I got to rider in one of the sides compartments of the craft, with the side door open ( of course I was strapped in to my seat ) the craft at one point flew with my side parole to the grown, as it made a couple of sharp turn, real fun ride. I served in the Civil Air Patrol for 4 year, one of the benefits, was a lot of flying time. I Severed in the United States Army fore 9 years, 4 years National Guard, and 4 years Regular Army. While in the military , I was a anti tank toe missile crewman, Combat Engineer , and a Field Medic. I served during The Panama War, Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, Police action in Somalia. This picture is entitled " Support Is on The Way." because any field soldier know that helicopter are the main transport vehicle for delivering, supplies, mail, equipment, moving troops back and forth, from the rear to the battlefield. The Child of the Valley

Their tentative name is the Child of the Valley. I wanted to craft a small story to go with this image, but it proved too formidable a task for now. All I know is that the rider needs to be very careful about what he says to them. This started out as the result of the art prompt, "beauty", during one of weekly digital art share sessions that I run on Discord. And then I took it, and ran with it.

City Rider

'You ride?!!' they asked, 'Bikes with gear? For real?!' This Artwork is a response to this very common reaction I get as a female rider. Yes, women ride bikes. In fact, ALL types of women can ride bikes. I saw this lady in a Burkha riding an Avenger bike recently, on the highway with her husband riding pillion. So inspiring!
