First prompt of Inktober! Happy October 1st everyone!!!

Another watercolor piece for practicing. This is actually a painting of my eye, which actually made it more difficult than doing someone else's. My iris has this weird mix of colors to it, but I always thought they looked really cool and I wanted to try to capture it. I think there are still some kinks that need to be worked out, and I think redoing it some other isn't a bad idea either.

I feel like my landscapes have very traditional colors so i tried to make these look bright and exaggerated but still hold the same base color. Let me know what you think.

had to paint light through trees in watercolor. The pattern on the chair was a pain in the butt, but I think it came out ok. Winsor & Newton professional watercolors on Blick premier cold press 140lb watercolor block. This is the first time I've used Blick Watercolor paper. It held up well, but the painting came out kind of light (not sure if the paper had anything to do with that, though). At any rate, I bought a bunch of it, so I guess that's what I'm using!

Victory Through Prayer Medium: Water Color Markers on Illustration Board Size 2' x 4' Year completed: 1991 This illustration is part of a collection of artwork I did while in the military entitled, "The Army Years", I served in the Army National Guard for 5 years, and the regular Army for 4 years. One of the main reasons I got out of the military is because I didn't have much time to do my artwork. While I was stationed in Germany I did a few posters, and banners for a German/ American Playhouse, and I was in a European art show. This illustration was done during The Desert Shield / Desert Storm, during this war, many soldiers were afraid that our military equipment would fail to function due to the desert sand. While I was stationed in Germany, I attended a Christian hospitality house, that ministered to military personnel, and their families. I knew and heard of soldiers who died or were wounded in the war, we prayed for God's protection for those we knew were in harm's way. I believe the reason the casualties were low for the collision force is that God gave them a swift victory on the battlefield. No one should think that it was just might, and smart bombs, Iraq had the 4th largest military in the world. The Bible teaches that God causes the rise and the fall of nations. Decoding the symbolism : The " v " with lightning bolt shooting out of it =God giving the collision forces victory over Iraq's military. The large bold eagle with the arrows in its right talon, and with it's left talon open to attack, = the U.S. attacking Iraq. The banner made up of the flag of the collision, tie to the eagle's open talon= The U.S. leading the collision nation in the war against Iraq. The necklace with the cross attached to it, around the eagle's neck = God protect around the U.S. forces, the result of intercessory prayer of Christians. The flag of Iraq illustrated in the shape of the geological area mass of country, being shattered by the lighting = God judging Iraq, by giving the collision power to conquer Iraq and occupy her land. I have a hard time trying to decide what my "style" is. This comes closest I think. Plus I LOVE drawing chickens. These are two of my own grumpy ladies.

Context: Edward finds out that his girlfriend seduced him to ruin his plans because she is an informant, and his plan to expose corruption in Gotham would mean devaluing all the secrets she collected. It's a long story and who hasn't been a young ambitious careerist?.. Uh, maybe Amber is a special case, but she regrets it!.. Falling in love with him was not part of her plan, but it is what it is and everyone is unhappy and heartbroken in the end.

I drew a braid today I said to myself that I was going to start doing more painting and graphite work I showed it to my brother and he immediately saw it to be a braid so I was happy about that. I was sketching braids out a lot yesterday and now I’m trying to work on my shading and value tones for this piece. I think the shading came out OK I do think it can be better. I’m thinking about taking one or two days off from work just so can I really focus on more art.

Its a table, I have to drive to work in the snow and I really don’t want to I’m thinking about calling off but I’m only working three days this week and I don’t wanna lose money, soooo wish me luck

I used a reference to draw this scenery. In the reference there was so many details that I really wanted to capture it. I even wanted to capture the details in the bride’s wedding dress. I think the groom looks quite handsome in blue (it’s HIS color as some people might say). I incorporated the long, beaded line under the bushels of flowers (just another element to add to an already beautiful scene). Also, as you can see, I added an audience watching the couple as they have their picture taken. The flowers spread along the table with the view of the wavy waters right behind them looks so refreshing. Every element served its purpose for the ultimate “moment to remember” feeling. One of my favorite things about this drawing is the string lights. It’s one of the smallest items to have, but they add character and charm to the scenery. The string lights give a romantic feel and is even more gorgeous at night. I enjoyed doing this drawing so much that I anticipated the second I’d be finished with it.
