Painted as my final project for my Painting Environments course. I was super nervous about tackling this one, but learned a ton taking this course. This is an acrylic painting.

This is my first full landscape project that I painted for a skillshare course. It was frustrating at times but I really enjoyed working through the multiple steps of this painting. I wanted to see what I could do it I pushed myself and I am happy with the final painting. I need to focus some more study on trees in the future, I like how the foreground tree came out, the forest edge was much more difficult. Trees

I love trees and I love playing with these watercolor pencils! I am learning so much!

I went to the kitchen to make some tea, still a lot left to do, the night seemed to be long. I looked up the window in front of me. The moon was orange.

I tried to catch my breath after all the running; I finally got to the bus stop. The wind was blowing vigorously, the rain clouds were approaching. It was a very typical spring morning.

Some trees don't want to be in a forest, they want to be a tree in a park, somewhere in the city.

Waterfall trees? (Digital)

I am quiet and sharp, strong and calm. I learn from the trees, I become the tree, I nurture the soil while it gives me back, and let the energy flow throughout the universe. I am a master, I am a slave, for the existence of them before me verifies my frivolous character in this game.

The wind stopped lowing. The water calmed down gradually. The sun was sparkling upon it. It was the last few days of spring.

I had to try charcoal again. Filled some squares, did some gradients, drew some trees. Then I just doodled ;) *shruh*

I let the chickens and the roosters out to have their daily walk. I need to keep an eye on them, there might be foxes around. The raspberries had ripened, and needed to be collected before they rotted on the branch. The stork flew by, and sat on the roof of the abandoned house nearby. The storks live next-doors, quite lovely neighbors. He was watching the chickens with me.

had to paint light through trees in watercolor. The pattern on the chair was a pain in the butt, but I think it came out ok. Winsor & Newton professional watercolors on Blick premier cold press 140lb watercolor block. This is the first time I've used Blick Watercolor paper. It held up well, but the painting came out kind of light (not sure if the paper had anything to do with that, though). At any rate, I bought a bunch of it, so I guess that's what I'm using!

Practicing trees

Another piece from my vernal pools/treescapes studies I have been working on in correlation to my interest in local creature found in our woodlands. I adopted the use of a circle one night, wanting to frame out an idea/sketch and a wine glass happened to be close by. Since then I have used it often, loving the circle aspect.

I’ve been at it again with those tattoo markers from hobby lobby! Woohoo!!

Had some fun doing some crosshatching. Wanted to see if it would give the trees more texture instead of just leaving it blank.

I've been inspired by mountains, trees, and wildlife in general since moving to New Zealand. It's a new feeling and I like it.
