Watercolor whale whimsy

I don't usually post my instagram & twitter art here, but why not? I'm so excited that it's finally October! I made this quick little doodle yesterday for the first day of October. Also, I have photoshop but I'm using Krita more and more. Krita has a more intuitive feel and I'm able to make quicker sketches with it.

Pelican Queen gives a captivating rally speech to her subjects that are in her mind. Used some watercolor-pencils and some digital overlay.

The idea for this portrait came to me when I was looking at a packaging of soap - it was very glossy and it looked like it could look like pearls. As well as the soap packaging, I used white ink mixed with acrylic paint (for opacity) on black paper.

For the last day of Inktober, I drew a pumpkin with black india ink on orange paper. I had never done an Inktober challenge before, and I really liked it! I'm definitely doing it next year, too. I got very good ideas for new projects, I played with different textures and colours, and I used a calligraphic pen to draw, which I had never done before and which I loved.

Smile! Painted with gelly gouache, Posca paint pens and pencil crayons. There is a tiny bit of white gel pen as well...
