This is part of my daily Sketchgrind day 11. That's how I felt when I quit my job working in a highly competitive office job in the financial sector and started to work full time as an artist. A bazillion little round circles and almost as many lines and it still looks static. Sheesh. I'll be working this idea to DEATH over the next few days....
Here's a portrait of Yuko Shimizu that I'm working on for an IlloStories project (check the group out on Facebook).
I took her pose from one of her photographs, then used colours, patterns and textures that were inspired by her artworks.
This could be a front page for a book about her, or maybe a page for when her story reaches this point!
So I wanted to play with lights and shadows with this piece. (sorry I literally could not figure out how to set post it straight and I tried all I could think of, it didn's work out. Please if you have the same problem and you know how to solve it tell me, thank you).
My mother actually used to say this to me and my brothers when we asked her to do something while she was in the midst of doing something else...Magic marker, then worked in Photoshop.
This is the first and only portrait I've done of my daughter [Rae] when I decided to get back into drawing and start trying portraits 2 yrs ago. I've worked on other portraits since and my skills are improving however this is still one of my favs
This art is linked to my previous work. The protogonist has entered the other side of the world. A weird place but it seems familiar as this world is nothing but his consciousness and diary is just a portal which let him in here
i drew this with a certain theme in mind, dystopia or apocalypse. and when I asked some of my friends for a word to base it off of, they said android. so I drew a one point perspective of a plague ridden city with androids as morticians. it's not my best however I thought it would be good to start putting some of my artwork online
'You ride?!!' they asked, 'Bikes with gear? For real?!' This Artwork is a response to this very common reaction I get as a female rider. Yes, women ride bikes. In fact, ALL types of women can ride bikes. I saw this lady in a Burkha riding an Avenger bike recently, on the highway with her husband riding pillion. So inspiring!
I don't know why these all upload sideways, but here's my latest work for the sketchbook. I created the electric field pattern and printed it on photo paper then doodled these rainbow trout (at the suggestion of my friend Andrew) and glued them on.
This artwork is about an alien who is most comfortable in the clarity of thought that hands are his greatest friends. Magical energy surrounds them as they rejoice in the company of their hands.
