Truman Capote

Truman Capote (1924–1984) He compulsively added numbers in his head, refusing to dial a telephone number or accept a hotel room if the digits made a sum he considered unlucky. “It’s endless, the things I can’t and won’t,” he said. “But I derive some curious comfort from obeying these primitive concepts.” - From Daily Rituals: How Artists Work by Mason Currey “Life is a moderately good play with a badly written third act.” ― Truman Capote #dailyrituals #inktober #TrumanCapote @masoncurrey

Tiger Dream

I'm hoping to finish off this children's book this year. It's a lot of work. Too many illustrations - so many the printing cost will jump, so I might have to find a publisher for this one, rather than self-publish. This is acrylic on paper.

Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin (Part 2) The plan worked, up to a point. After following the course several times in a row, he found it necessary to go through just one course in a year, and then one every few years. But the virtue of order—“Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time”—appears to have eluded his grasp. Franklin was not naturally inclined to keep his papers and other possessions organized, and he found the effort so vexing that he almost quit in frustration. This timetable was formulated before Franklin adopted a favorite habit of his later years—his daily “air bath.” At the time, baths in cold water were considered a tonic, but Franklin believed the cold was too much of a shock to the system. He wrote in a letter: I have found it much more agreeable to my constitution to bathe in another element, I mean cold air. With this view I rise early almost every morning, and sit in my chamber without any clothes whatever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season, either reading or writing. This practice is not in the least painful, but on the contrary, agreeable; and if I return to bed afterwards, before I dress myself, as sometimes happens, I make a supplement to my night’s rest, of one or two hours of the most pleasing sleep that can be imagined. Princess Sourglum
1/2

Like her name, she's sour but she's more angry than glum,I really don't like how her dress turned out but I really couldn't try anything else since I'm drawing with my finger again.. hopefully I'll redesign the dress soon and use less orange.Duchess RavenWaves is my inspiration for her.She is a purple licorice princess albeit evil (you know how a lot of people hate licorice?) Instead of having simple sweet candy decorations on her dress she has candy corn decorations (no one likes candy corn) she is really bitter, evil, selfish and ruthless often enslaving many candy people with her father who works as her advisor.her wand isn't alive like Sweetnette's wand it still has powerful magic like Sweetnette, she has to dance and sing to transform, there's a jester form and a military leader form.she is taller and thin, and has a circular face in contrast to Sweetnette's square face.she often uses demonic magic, which sometimes backfires.

Jazzydoodle

I've discovered some great jazz whilst working from home. I guess it's an age thing? Get to middle age and you're bang into jazz. I started off making some free hand lettering which quickly turned into me doodling the names of my favourite musicians. Might develop this into a poster, what do you reckon? Mmmm jazz, nice!

Dissipating Ripples
1/4

Close to a month ago, I had found out my design was selected for the Art Stop Program, and, yes, this is mainly what I've been working on since. I've never worked on a piece this large before, 72in x 24in, and I rarely make sketches of pieces before creating the final work. It's definitely a cool feeling to look at the finished board and see how the drawing actually came to life. (The Art Stop Program selects a handful of entered designs for the artists to create on a larger board, and these boards will then be inserted into bus stop benches around Niles, IL.) I can't wait to see the bench this will be in, and I'm so lucky I got to be part of the program.

Malthus

Malthus appears to be absent of any kind of mercy or remorse, often toying with its victims before attempting to kill them and take their souls. Malthus is also very sadistic, persistent, aggressive, terrifying, and pure evil. Done with lead pencil on 11x17 80ibs strathmore drawing paper. This character is based on demon that came in real life story. In Annabelle comes home movie is where he gets involved the most. If you are interested in purchasing this artwork $55 and also I am doing private commission. Just leave a comment or you can email me jungmeister4@yahoo.com (Shipping the original artwork fee will apply)

Portrait

Fairly recently I was "commissioned" to paint a picture of my cousin and grandmother. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but painting this was a bit of a challenge. There were definitely moments where I stopped painting and completely hated how it looked/became frustrated with myself, and I wouldn't work on it for days. I felt an odd pressure attached to making this... or maybe I'm crazy. 16x20, acrylic.
