This week an inquisitive kitty is my subject. It's done in 2B and 4B graphite pencil on Canson Sketch Pad paper. The reference was a ZETA stock photo.

The monsters we create A collection of creatures born from our impact and existance on Earth. This is a work in progress project, it doesn't yet have a name, but the story becomes more clear every day. Soon I will have more details about it, until then take care, this runner is taking a real shape and it's after you. I drew these guys with a Pilot Custom 823 FA and Platinum Carbon Black ink. The FA nib has a good drawing width on watercolor paper - one of my favorites. It's a soft nib but I don't use the line variation, just some nice shock absorption with each downstroke. The Carbon Black ink is out-of-this-world good, though being pigmented I fear keeping it in too many pens.

I'm working on details and silhouettes. It's the first concept of illustration with a lantern. I'm going to do more in that style with even more details. Redrawing finished works is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and see progress. Have a lovely Wednesday!
