Space Cat (DTIYS)

o, the other day, I joined Artfol. While perusing my feed, there, I came across a submission for @millydoesart ‘s DTIYS and immediately decided I had to try my hand at this. It’s such a fun piece, and right up my alley (which is great, because I have been struggling artistically lately). Anyway, here is the end result. As a bonus, this only took me 5 hours! (I spent most of the time on the folds). I had a lot of fun. Thanks to @millydoesart for giving me the opportunity to try my hand at their wonderful concept

Macabre and macabrer.

Macabre and macabrer. Transmundane Tuesdays with @carsonellis. The Tongue eating louse just wanted to be drawn. You need to imagine the buckle shoes somewhere in the second picture. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZryL3gJujB/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

10 minute turtle after a busy day

I've been busy the last couple days, and didn't get my art up here, don't judge this one it's pretty last minute, hoping to have more time tomorrow.

I’ve decided to try doing a galaxy painting again, I really like doing the first one. Honestly, I think the first one was better than the second one, which is weird but I’ve definitely learned a lot doing the second one like how I want to layer down the paint and what the background should look like. This is another 4, 6 x 6 painting like I did before; I’m gonna try doing planets again on each board, i want to get better at this.

“Laurel Weaver/Returner”, February 2022.

Rainy days = a perfect excuse for a shedload of coffee and drawing to indulge in. :) Occurs to me I did one with the title “Laurel Weaver” close to four years ago. Not much else connects the two beyond the title or does it? I don’t know... Whatever the case, I fancied recycling and revisiting this idea somehow. Enjoy!

An automatic drawing, everything is out of my head with only the briefest idea of a story line. I played around with shapes and lines and shading to see what affect would result. It was fun, but time consuming.

Salvation in a Storm

This painting illustrates a man who finds safety from drowning in a stormy sea by climbing on to a platform in shape of a cross. The storm itself represents the trial we face in life. The shipwrecked person shows that we have nothing we can approach God with that would sway Him to help us when we call on Him for help. Only out of grace and mercy does He rescue us. The platform in the shape of the cross represents that God has provided a way for man to escape punishment for his sins, which would have been casting him into the lake of fire after death. Through God’s love and mercy, He punished Jesus for man’s sin; the guiltless Son of God was punished so that the guilty sinful humans could be saved through faith. The step represents man’s need to come to God humbly through Jesus to receive anything from God. The light breaking through the clouds represents God hearing the man’s prayer and answering it. Winter Olympics

Reading about the Winter Olympics a few weeks ago inspired this piece. There are roughly 8 layers on here to build up the color.
