Spring contest color test

Trying to make sharp shadows without having everything blend toghether. My goal is to convey the warm, pinkish sunlight on the first day of spring, and light is not something i have given enough care to earlier. Removing colors from a photography is an effective way to get an idea of how sharp shadows actually are!

The Soul Harvest

The Soul Harvest The Soul Harvest is done in a surrealistic style and is spiritual in content. This painting illustrates the world as being a field filled with souls from every corner of the earth needing to be saved from eternal death, which is the punishment for sin. But by hearing and understanding and receiving the good news, through faith in Jesus’s death for the sin of man, man can be forgiven and have eternal life with God. The farm tools leaning against the fence are an invitation to those who know Jesus to pick up their God-given talents and go into the world and use them to spread the good news. The inside of the barn, with the wheat sheaths standing up, illustrates the souls that have received eternal life through the work of the believer, and the crown is their reward from God. Chickens out for the day, and enjoying the sunshine

A little sketch, 3” by 5”, made better with a bit of cheap watercolour paint. I don’t know why, but I like this little scene. It isn’t a terribly brilliant sketch and I didnt paint it with great care, but still, i like it. And in the end, it really doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. If you finish a little piece of art snd can say you like it even weeks and months later, then it is a winner for you.

Good Intentions

Often times my work is more about a conversation with my anxieties. I have a deep, conflicting relationship with concepts of existentialism. The following works reflect abstract ideas that I simply don’t have words for.
