This is part of a series of postcards that I have been creating to mail to my mom everyday. She is in assisted living about 3 hours away so I can’t see her every day. I mail her the postcards to give her something to look forward to.

"Nowhere Fast" is a compelling still life that blends mundane domesticity with surreal, slightly ominous undertones. The scene is anchored by a wooden table where a spilled glass, a pack of matches, and an ashtray with a smoldering cigarette suggest a moment of interrupted pause or quiet, long-term stagnation. I decided to try another doodle - some inspiration behind this one - I’ve recently heard how life seems to be this constant dreadful loop, cylinder like walk, everyday the same. Life is more of a triangle, with the point of being up and down, one turn different than the next, and I guess you could say the next turn is unknown - why I left the one side blank, for your interpretation of what happens next.

Draw everyday

Relaxed tension. Two parents at a national chess competition. Their kids squared off at the board, and so did they — one leaning back, shoe propped up, trying for calm; the other sitting stiff, watchful. The game played out in more ways than one.

This piece continues my ongoing tool series, focusing on objects shaped by use, precision, and repetition. The speed square—an essential instrument of measurement and accuracy—is rendered with attention to wear, markings, and subtle imperfections left by time and handling. Isolated against a minimal background, the tool becomes both subject and symbol: a quiet reflection on structure, angles, and the human need to measure and make sense of the physical world. Like the others in this series, it honors everyday labor and the overlooked beauty found in functional objects.

Sometimes the quickest drawings hold the deepest truths. During an after-sermon discussion about understanding the love of God, I found myself listening with one ear and drawing with the other. Frank, seated across the room, made a natural model—relaxed posture, thoughtful presence, and a face full of character. With a pen in hand, I traced his form in a quick contour line, following the folds of his shirt, the tilt of his jaw, the stillness of his hands resting in his lap. Contour drawing asks us to see more than just the surface—it demands patience and presence, a slowing down until the line itself feels like prayer. Frank became more than a subject; he was a reminder that the love of God is often revealed in ordinary moments and everyday people.

Fraudulent companies have increasingly exploited the rapidly growing cryptocurrency market by offering crypto-backed debit cards that claim to allow users to spend their digital assets seamlessly in everyday transactions. These scams often lure victims with promises of exclusive “Platinum” or “Elite” cards, which require a substantial upfront deposit. Once the payment is made, however, the promised cards never arrive. I found myself caught in this web of deceit when I was enticed by the allure of a “Platinum Crypto Card.” The marketing was compelling, showcasing high spending limits and instant access to my cryptocurrency funds. I was convinced that this card would elevate my financial experience, allowing me to use my digital assets just like cash.After much deliberation, I took the plunge and paid $25,000 upfront, believing I was making a wise investment. But as the days turned into weeks, my excitement quickly turned to dread. The card never arrived, and my attempts to contact customer support were met with silence. It felt as if the company had vanished, leaving me in a state of disbelief and despair.Realizing I had been defrauded was a crushing blow. I felt a mix of anger and shame, grappling with the fact that I had trusted this company. With no clear path to recovery, I felt utterly helpless. That’s when I discovered Salvage Asset Recovery, a service dedicated to tracing and recovering cryptocurrency lost to fraud.I reached out to them, desperate for assistance. They began their investigation by tracing my digital transactions linked to the initial payment. Using advanced cryptocurrency analysis tools, they identified the scammer’s wallet address. My bike did not come with shocks; So, my spine feels every bump on the road. On a whim, I dropped by my local bike shop today to see if I could get a seat post with a spring in it, which would help with this issue. This employee was so helpful and had a focused cool air about them. I really admire people that are so focused on what they do and are very friendly at the same time. The seat post was only $10 and, since I traded in my old one, I got 5 bucks off of the new one too! My interaction with this employee and getting this good of a deal on bike equipment made my day.

One of the other bits of art I'll sometimes do is collage building. I admit to recycling bits of everyday things from candy wrappers and ramen noodles lids to packaging information for later use. I do use a bit of my own artwork but that's not really the focal point and therefore, it's being excluded from tags.
