A fairly special one for me this week, as today’s post is inspired by what would have been the time of Beltane celebrations. As it is, we celebrated at home in our own little ways, and in the case of myself indulging in my usual habits! Drinking and of course drawing, the usual stuff...

Fantasy Awaits

I doodled these mountains last night (Tuesday) while drinking a Modelo. It was great.

Tikoloshe is an African monster that lives in the rivers and becomes invisible by drinking water...

Lots of the on my hands during self isolation. Got me thinking about the power of nature over us mere mortals. With all our supposed wealth and intellect we are powerless by comparison.

As a fun way to come up with drawing prompts I've been thinking up rhyming couplets (a la Dr. Suess) with my wife. Particularly pleased with this one! It's going to a friend who loves D&D. Pen and watercolour on paper, 5x7".

All Done! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but a few of the proportions are way off... but oh well. And I absolutely suck at manes(hair) soooo ya. I uploaded a version of this that I felt was kind of a throwaway. Just dinking around and trying to get a feel for techniques. In the end, while I was happy with what I learned, I didn't think much of it as far as a completed work goes. But I couldn't leave it alone so I took about another hour and fixed what I felt could be fixed short of starting from scratch. Because it's a process, right?
