Living Forward

Sunday morning, more than a decade ago. Music, fellowship, and reports about what God was doing here and there. Some things are worth remembering. We learn from looking back— but we must live forward.

Sharing the Love of God – A Quick Contour Sketch

Sometimes the quickest drawings hold the deepest truths. During an after-sermon discussion about understanding the love of God, I found myself listening with one ear and drawing with the other. Frank, seated across the room, made a natural model—relaxed posture, thoughtful presence, and a face full of character. With a pen in hand, I traced his form in a quick contour line, following the folds of his shirt, the tilt of his jaw, the stillness of his hands resting in his lap. Contour drawing asks us to see more than just the surface—it demands patience and presence, a slowing down until the line itself feels like prayer. Frank became more than a subject; he was a reminder that the love of God is often revealed in ordinary moments and everyday people.

Wabi-Sabi and the Guest of the Moment

Imperfect Lines, Honest Presence This sketch is not perfect—and that’s exactly why it’s alive. The bold figure, the dissolving hat, the tilted chair: all of it feels unfinished, fleeting, caught in motion. It’s what the Japanese call wabi-sabi—finding beauty in the imperfect, the impermanent, the incomplete. But there’s something deeper here too. A quick sketch is not just what the eye records. It’s what the soul permits. To draw without fixing, without polishing, is to admit the world will not hold still for us. Life slips past. The lines break off. And yet, somehow, the essence remains. When you sketch this way, you are not the master of the moment—you are its guest. The pencil does not carve permanence; it pays attention. The act of drawing becomes an act of being present, of honoring what is already vanishing. So here’s a challenge: grab a pencil and sketch someone near you in sixty seconds. Do not erase. Do not perfect. Let the lines falter. When you finish, ask yourself: What truth did the imperfection reveal? Perhaps presence itself is the real art.

Opossum

I spilled a little paint on this leather scrap so I figured why not paint something on it? It’s kinda hard bringing a ‘possum to life on paper because they’re so silly and dumb in a cute sort of way, I think I managed to capture this guy’s personality alright..

Hear No Evil (The Materialist)

This figure explores how the relentless pursuit of monetary gain and digital distraction stifles genuine attention and moral listening. * Visual Focus: The mask is equipped with a headphone covering a single ear. The headphone wire is visibly broken, frayed, and cut short, suggesting a deliberate disconnect or a failed attempt at communication. A small coin dangles conspicuously from the corner of the figure's mouth. * Symbolism: * The Headphones: Represent modern distraction and the ability to selectively "tune out" inconvenient truths or moral calls. The broken, frayed wire reinforces the idea of a failed connection to the real world. * The Coin in the Mouth: Serves as a powerful, visceral metaphor for being "consumed by monetary means." It connects the act of speaking/listening to the theme of greed, suggesting that the voice and ear are functionally "plugged" or corrupted by the all-consuming focus on wealth. The refusal to hear moral guidance is dictated by the pursuit of money.

Apolonia Cacadu

Apolonia Cacadu (her family is calling her: Polly) is a working girl. Very hard working. During the day, she works part time in three different places, and in the evenings she professionally swings on a swing above the bar counter, in the "Under parrots" pub. Because of this constant running around the city, there is little time for her to eat, and often her daily meal is just a handful of crackers (which she loves) and a few green olives with pepper. That’s why her weight is rather featherlike. She dreams about a trip to the Amazon rainforest and spreading her wings as a dancer (she’s great at dance hall and twerking).

City Heat

This painting/ drawing is started in the Abstract with forms created organically. I used Acrylics and applied them liberally as you might use in watercolor techniques. I love challenging myself to create in this form, as I do in finding the figures which may form themselves in the process. I then detail the figures in a drawing style to enhance and bring it forward. It’s part of a three piece series I made in this color story and can also be seen on my ArtFinder page, available for purchase. @adrianajgarces

Nowhere Fast.

"Nowhere Fast" is a compelling still life that blends mundane domesticity with surreal, slightly ominous undertones. The scene is anchored by a wooden table where a spilled glass, a pack of matches, and an ashtray with a smoldering cigarette suggest a moment of interrupted pause or quiet, long-term stagnation. Dominating the foreground is an oversized, weathered cigarette carton boldly labeled "WARNING", its subtle but unsettling presence hinting at a consumption that leads nowhere. In the background, a vintage RCA television set displays a stylized amanita mushroom, a recurring symbolic motif that adds a layer of psychedelia and altered perception to the otherwise drab setting. The earthy, muted color palette and soft lighting create a feeling of weary introspection, capturing a sense of being perpetually stuck in a cycle. The piece masterfully uses everyday objects to explore themes of vice, time, and the quiet, slow march toward an uncertain destination.

Hire A Cryptocurrency Fraud Recovery Hacker Service Online: VISIT CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES

It started with optimism. A serendipitous encounter with an old college friend in Miami’s bustling airport led to a conversation about financial growth. He spoke glowingly of Dollar fx net, a platform he insisted had doubled his investments. Trusting his enthusiasm, I deposited 10,000 USD a substantial chunk of my job savings only to face a shocking roadblock weeks later. The platform demanded an additional 5,000 “verification fee” to unlock withdrawals. My stomach dropped; this wasn’t a hiccup it was a trap. Stress pushed me into research mode. Scouring cybersecurity forums, I uncovered countless stories mirroring mine: unregulated platforms exploiting trust, draining accounts under false pretenses. Then, a lifeline a Reddit thread praising CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES for their no-nonsense approach to fund retrieval. Skeptical but out of options, I submitted a case file through their portal, hoping for a miracle. The response from CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES was swift and reassuring. They outlined a comprehensive strategy: trace the digital trail of my 10,000 USD, they apply pressure on the platform through legal backchannels. Their transparency struck me while they couldn’t guarantee success, their expertise was evident. Over the next week, CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES became my digital sherpa, guiding me through the murky waters of online fraud recovery. Their team meticulously decoded Dollar fx net’s obfuscated transaction logs, revealing that my funds had been funneled into offshore wallets, far from any regulatory oversight. Armed with this information, their legal team issued takedown notices to payment processors linked to the platform, effectively putting them on notice. The pressure worked: on day 10, I received a cryptic email from Dollar fx net claiming my account was “under review. "By week two, the impossible happened my original 10,000 USD reappeared in my bank account, sans the fabricated fees. CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES later explained how their threat of exposing the platform’s infrastructure to regulators had forced their hand. Their relentless pursuit of justice to recover my funds and also highlighted the importance of holding fraudulent platforms accountable. This ordeal taught me two harsh truths: not all opportunities are as they seem, and due diligence is non-negotiable. Yet it also revealed heroes like CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES ethical hackers who use their skills to fight back against fraud. I now understand that vigilance and the right support can turn the tide against deceit. In a world where fraudsters thrive on silence, speaking out and seeking help can be the most powerful tools in reclaiming what is rightfully yours.
