My new method of finding something interesting to draw - now that I'm mostly at home, like everyone else - is using StreetView. I use the app to search interesting places around the globe. This one is a sketch of somewhere near Lagos in Nigeria.
Drawn from a garden photograph. This took me much longer than expected. I kept stopping because I was getting discouraged. I still don't like the leaves, but there's not too much I can do about it at this point.
I know this is simpler and a quicker piece, but this is the drawing for my August journal. I started doing these back in March, with each month's drawing being based off a song. This month is "Golden Slumbers" by the Beatles, July was "Tower of Babel" by Elton John. (The pencil sketch eye I previously posted is indeed now in my journal.)
I have been wanting to explore the concept of creating a Vitruvian Women. Also felt like I struggled with the composition of the Reflect piece (which I am working on developing a series). Hence trying to learn from the best - in a scientific way:)
This watercolor painting was done of one of the first flowers I saw upon arriving in London. It was a yellow climbing rose on the outside of our residence hall. I so enjoyed the inktober and now I am going to do whatever whatever for awhile. I grabbed a sketchbook off my shelf. The paper is thin and rough - bad for ink, but so nice for pencil. Will try to switch the gears now and go with a different feeling.

This was for an art submission over at MightCould Studios, link in my bio. This week they asked us to draw a Sanrio character and I chose the frog Kerropi, hopefully thats spelled right.
This was drawn in Spiralty (a free Windows program) and colored in Photoshop. Great fun and very relaxing. I am definitely going to be making more mandalas during the rest of the pandemic.
