I feel only positive emotions after drawing this landscape. It's a bit wintery, snowy, and magical. I love the background texture. But I still need to work on the details. Recently, I discovered the miraculous power of gouache. I ordered paints a few days ago (still waiting for the shipment). That's why there are only digital versions for now. I have already purchased a course on the Domestika platform. I'm going to try my skills at traditional painting on paper. It will be a big challenge. Had some fun doing some crosshatching. Wanted to see if it would give the trees more texture instead of just leaving it blank.

This spread was unfinished for over a year and I finally got around to completing it. Micron on Molskine sketch grade paper.

I initially wanted to draw a mandala but after outlining the big circles, I thought "why not add some texture?" and there you go. Experimenting with different shapes and shades always pays off.

Here is a watercolor piece I made so I can relax, have fun with textures and my gold ink. It is meant to illustrate how those olive tree leaves shimer in the light of day.

I was skeptical whether I could get the inner and outershadows of the avocade but I did it. And the texture of the paper helped a lot. Kudos to me!!!

It has been a while. I have been working on a project that can't be posted. I decided to try re-doing pictures that I have already posted. This is a re-do of Paul Newman. I wanted to see if I have improved. Drawing consistently now since late November/early December 2020.

This is a 19 in by 24 in oil painting on Bristol paper. I love this piece because of the textures and the bright but muted colors. I did this in 2019 in the spring at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The professor always pronounced "fruit" in a very bazaar way. It was a great class overall.

Here's a portrait of Yuko Shimizu that I'm working on for an IlloStories project (check the group out on Facebook). I took her pose from one of her photographs, then used colours, patterns and textures that were inspired by her artworks. This could be a front page for a book about her, or maybe a page for when her story reaches this point!

I changed the composition, types of silhouettes, and background texture a few times. I didn't have any expectations about the finished work. It was a creative flow with many changes. I think the creative process looks like this. Don't be afraid to try. If you make your art digitally, it's simple. You can: - create a new layer, - use shortcut Ctrl+Z. In traditional art, it depends on the art supplies you use. Sometimes you can try more times. Sometimes you need to start again. But any attempt is better than giving up.

I'm playing a lot with the background texture. I'm discovering the power of brushes from Krita Software.  I fell in love with the gouache texture effect.  I like the silhouettes in this illustration, but the leaves could be better. I need to find a good brush for drawing leaves faster and with ease. Or maybe I should try some other techniques? Have a creative time!
