I got to drop into an outdoor class with my beloved teacher from the studio. A space had finally opened up two weeks before everything in SF shut down again. Well, it was good to see her and my fellow students and be in that setting on a beautiful sunny day. I was also negotiating my next job salary and getting phone calls during class, so I wasn't entirely present. The class topic for the day was palm trees. This is in front of the De Young, another place I was so glad to have visited indoors on another afternoon before the latest lock down.

And they say that the elves in the Wilderness had no names for their gods , perhaps that is why they have all been forgotten . They did not call them gods , the elves liked to call them "spirits" . The unknowable primal forces granted them abilities . They could implore the trees for aid . And call upon mighty winds to defend them . And ask the rivers and rain for healing and comfort . And in return, they tended the garden of the great spirits , ever watchful and protective of the many lifeforms that lived within the great circle. We are all part of the great circle, the only way to escape it is to cut yourself off form everyone and everything , it is a hard path ... . . . . thank you

I'm trying to come up with MY language that clearly communicates to everyone what I see outside. Landscape has always been the hardest for me.

I know that the river is a little off the perspective that the painting is done in, but everything else looks to scale.

The freshness of morning withdrew in front of the warm rays of the sun. Hidden in the crown of a large oak tree near us, pointed snake watched their game with their big green eyes, but I noticed that she quickly dropped into sleep. Then I remember that I did not do some important jobs yesterday, Čirilo Bum will definitely see it when we get home. It spoils my mood a bit, and I pulled out of the baskets a few of the dried sausages that the old wizard worked so well. My nervousness I softened so that I ate all the food from the basket. Late in the afternoon, we went home, from the trees they began to descend some new, hitherto unseen beings in search for food or night hideout. Spirit of water was gone, but a good part of the way, perhaps from curiosity, we were followed by other inhabitants of the World of Fantasy, were to me welcome companions, I took my thoughts with them, to the house. A creature happily roaming lands to question and feel the wonder in realms delightful. Eyes through trees, feathered expressiobs, loud poetic verses. Wood realms unveil an interesting reality here.

To draw a forest so it's big enough you don't include the tops of the trees or any sky. Just very thick tree-trunks growing absolutely straight. ... In a proper painting of a forest everything is roughly the same colour, the moss, the tree-trunks and the branches of the fir trees, everything is soft and solemn, half-way between grey and brown and green but very little green. Some sketches I did a month ago. I'm trying to make "cloud like" trees.

Gold and Jade are especially favored among the Chinese. The gold ginko leaves (ginko trees are also know for its longevity) across a background of green is to symbolize abundance in health and wealth for the new year. There are 15 days to the Lunar New Year celebration but typically the first 3 days are the most celebrated. In celebration of the festive season, this is a post for Day 3 and this will be my last post for the celebration.
