(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) The second of five small drawings which are meant to show what happens when an artist gets bored of a subject. You draw something halfheartedly and think "That'll do!" XD
Finally I finished this one! New original character Marisha. She is a pirate and a very skilled thief! I was doing this artwork for Mooncolony art contest in Discord. Worth to try a new theme! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAB-YNU2ZoA
A DISPUTE IN SIGN LANGUAGE.
From Favorite Folktales from Around the World by Jane Yolen.
And this is what the poultry dealer related: “The priest pointed with one finger to my eyes, meaning to take out my eye. I pointed with two fingers to imply, I would take out both his eyes."
...
At the same time the priest’s friends questioned him: “What did you ask the Jew? What did he reply?” The priest related: “At first I pointed one finger, meaning that there is only one king. He pointed with two fingers, meaning that there are two kings, the King in Heaven and the king on earth."
Watercolour and the tiniest bit of coloured pencil and acrylic marker on watercolour paper. Size A4. Done with negative painting technique. This was inspired by a figure found in a Kinder egg from my daughter. It seems to be common sense these days to scan and fix your artwork digitally before posting it on any social media. I don't do that. I kind of like the little (or bigger) imperfections in my work, and I also believe that uploading traditional work that has been digitally fixed gives people the idea that such perfect pictures can be achieved in a traditional way.
Meadhbh standing while clasping her forearm. Two drawing details along with two in-progress scans of my technique: red Bic pen layer first, then green layer and finally the yellow ink layer. Bic4 Ballpoint Pen on Archival 9” x 12” paper. Model: Meadhbh (Maeve).
Acrylic on canvas.
50cm x 70cm.
This started as a purely experimental abstract piece, but evolved to include both abstract and surreal (i.e. representational) elements.

MY CALENDAR FOR SALE: https://www.artwanted.com/artist.cfm?ArtID=115637&Tab=Calendar
Always a weirdly beautiful moment when you butcher your spelling momentarily, only to discover you’ve inadvertently found the very artwork title for you were looking for...hehehe.
This is another way of working that I really like. Fine liners and chalk (colour) pencils were predominantly used, with a quick smothering of acrylics for her scarf and coarse posca pen marks for the jumper :). About the subject, Handmaid's Tale was one of those rare books that I read more than once growing up and it stayed with me, hence why I decided to draw Margaret Atwood (not seen the series yet though but I hear good things!). I accidentally had her hand cut out while penning the figure - still working on my scale and composition!
My three nieces doodled all over the background of this canvas and I did the painting of Neve in the foreground. I'll get my other two nieces painted in the summer.
