I took an hour or two and drew some owls while watching the 7th Harry Potter movie. Before you is a touching tale of true friendship between a capybara and a mouse. The capybara is the world's largest rodent. If you google "capybara friends," you'll see that there are a lot of instances of other species just hanging out with them in the wild. For some reason, all animals are attracted to the capybara. I'll wait while you look this up.
I took my drawings out into the wild for some glamour shots. I got busted crawling through a flower garden doing so, but the woman was fine with it. I gave her this bunny.
Nornwan. Once there were Nature dwelling elves. They only ever lived, frolicked and played in the deep woods. Their bodies were quite accustomed to the trees. They could speak with the elements of nature, they could make the trees move and cause great mushrooms to grow from the earth. Theirs was the power to ask the spirits that watched over the wood fro guidance and peace. The Knights Factions implored these wild folk for aid on one fateful day. Few elves agreed to give trees and other supplies to the army, those that did not were attacked and destroyed and given no help by the army of Knights.
I printed my black and white zentangle drawing on marker paper and colored it with alcohol markers. At first it was a bit to garish with too much contrast, so I painted a warm grey over the whole piece. That gave me what I was looking for. Of course, THEN I completely undermined that with making a bunch of wild colored ones (two shown here) by playing with them in Photoshop. I shall be using this (along with my Zentangle koi posted la while back) for printing blank cards that we sell for charitable (mostly foodbanks) organizations.
We have finished the second season of The Witcher and I was inspired to make a composition with Cirilla. I have decided to take the visuals from the game where Ciri is already a grown up and became very strong. Behind her is Geralt who looks after her. This doodle is a marker and ink drawing of a hyper stylized sun with a middle spiral and squiggles extruding from the center like a wild galactic heliocentric power hold. Part of a personal project I'm working on right now, to experiment with new art styles and practice lettering skills by drawing animals. The color palette and symmetrical motifs in this one were inspired by the boats on Lake Xochimilco in Mexico, which is the last remaining place wild axolotls live.
