A bird almost universally considered “cute” thanks to its oversized round head, tiny body, and curiosity about everything, including humans. The chickadee’s black cap and bib; white cheeks; gray back, wings, and tail; and whitish underside with buffy sides are distinctive. I sat on the ground at the boat harbour to draw this. I felt a bit self conscious as everyone started emerging from the boat as I was obviously drawing it. I thought it was empty! I have never drawn a boat before and don't know much about them. It was fascinating.
Pink tulips on toned tan sketch paper. This was my first time burnishing. I used the toned tan paper so that I could better see the effects of burnishing with a white pencil. I used Prismacolor soft core pencils.
